In January, students on the Digital Business degree program at THI Business School had the opportunity to gain practical insights into the tension between digitalization and sustainability. As part of the “IT-Management” lecture, Prof. Dr. Oliver Gmelch invited Christian Schweiger, an expert from Infineon Technologies AG, to give a guest lecture.

The lecture shed light on how companies can shape digital transformation processes and pursue their sustainability goals at the same time. Key aspects of IT management were presented, including:

  • The structure and organization of Infineon
  • The connection between sustainability and digitalization
  • Concrete projects from needs analysis to service provision
  • Strategies for linking business and IT

In addition to technical insights, the event offered students the opportunity to actively participate in discussions about current challenges in the industry. The practical exchange once again showed how closely the content of the Digital Business course is linked to real business processes.
