In the middle of June, students of the Master degree programme Retail and Consumer Management and the Bachelor degree programme International Retail Management of THI Business School visited the distribution center of the German drugstore dm-drogerie markt GmbH + Co. KG at Weilerswist near Cologne. The study trip was part of the lecture “Supply Chain Management in Retailing”. During a guided tour throughout the facilities, the students could work on the distribution processes themselves in order to experience these directly. “Experiencing logistical processes creates a solid basis to better understand complex logistical correlations”, says Dr. Michael Sternbeck, lecturer at THI Business School for logistics and supply chain management and head of the study trip.
Trips like this one are integral part of all degree programmes of THI Business School and ensure the close integration of theory and practice.
