As part of the project seminar "Controlling & Finance", students of the Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration visited the company KPMG AG in Munich together with Prof. Dr. Alois Rauscher, who teaches internal and external accounting at THI Business School.
At the beginning, Johann Schnabel, Partner and Head of Accounting & Process Advisory at KPMG, provided interesting insights into his work as a management consultant. Afterwards, the students presented the results of their project work, in which they analysed a total of seven large listed companies from different sectors in small groups. Financial, profit and loss and strategic aspects were taken into account. With regard to sustainability, the companies' first publications on EU taxonomy were included in the analysis. In the course of the full-day event, the students were also able to discuss their results with Oliver Trautwein, Senior Manager in the Accounting & Process Advisory division of KPMG. He also gave the students insights into current developments in practice, for example in relation to sustainability reporting.
The students, who all chose the Controlling & Finance specialisation, were thus able to get to know a large auditing and consulting firm and discuss the results of their work with practitioners. This is in line with the THI Business School's approach of close integration of theory and practice.
