A lot has happened at THI Business School in recent years. Driven by the Bavarian State Ministry's higher education agenda, THI's Faculty of Business has seen an enormous increase in the number of professors and currently has almost 2,000 students. This means that THI Business School has achieved its goals of the last period. The task now is to set the course for the future (for the planning period up to and including 2027). As usual, a strategic plan has been developed for this purpose. In addition to drawing up and discussing the plan internally, the Business School obtains feedback from the working world for such tasks. To this end, a meeting was held with the members of the THI Business School's Advisory Council on December 1, 2023.
At the 2 ½ hour meeting, Dean Prof. Dr. Bernd Scheed and Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Claudia Lieske and Prof. Dr. Alexander Decker explained the planned strategies and measures to the members of the Advisory Council. As in previous meetings, there the members of the Advisory Council provided valuable input. Due to the current situation, there was a lot of discussion about integrating the topic of artificial intelligence into the curriculum of all teaching modules. Prof. Decker commented: "The Advisory Council clearly supports our plan to incorporate content on how to use generative AI sensibly into every course. It is important to understand and be able to use the various tools. According to the Advisory Council, this is already common practice in their companies. Other important topics that were repeatedly emphasized were the importance of taking a holistic view in each of the Business School's courses. This also includes aspects of social impact. This means that the so-called ESG criteria and framework conditions (abbreviation for Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) in the context of environmental, sustainability and social issues should also be taken into account in the curriculum of the modules at THI Business School.
The Advisory Council is a committee of outstanding graduates of THI Business School. The members support the faculty with regular feedback, e.g. on the strategic development of the THI Business School or on the introduction of or changes to study program concepts.
