THI Business School is pleased to welcome Dr. Carlo Gallier as the new Professor of Economics and Behavioral Economics. Since February 1, he has strengthened the university's team with his extensive expertise in applied economic research and behavioral economics.
Prof. Gallier studied economics in Mannheim (Bachelor) and Heidelberg (Master). He defended his doctoral thesis at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel. His professional career took him to the ZEW - Leibniz Center for European Economic Research in Mannheim as a researcher. He also was Assistant Professor at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
In his research, Prof. Gallier focuses on the institutional and behavioral underpinnings of economic policy, in particular environmental and climate policy. He combines economics and behavioral science to improve our understanding of the success and failure of human cooperation and use this knowledge to make economic policy more effective and efficient. In addition to his work at THI, he remains affiliated with the ZEW as a Junior Research Associate.
With his international experience and interdisciplinary approach, Prof. Gallier enriches the academic profile of THI Business School. We warmly welcome him!
