The book “Circular Economy in Sustainable Supply Chains - A Global Perspective on Challenges, Concepts and Cases” was recently published by the renowned Springer Verlag. Prof. Dr. Cristian R. Loza Adaui, Professor of Management and Corporate Social Responsibility at THI Business School, was one of the editors and authors of this volume.

The book is dedicated to the question of how circular business models can overcome key sustainability challenges - including climate protection, resource efficiency and the preservation of biodiversity in global supply chains. Circular business models are based on the principle of reusing, repairing, remanufacturing and recycling materials and products. Instead of consuming and disposing of resources in a linear fashion, they aim to keep valuable materials in the economic cycle and thus operate more sustainably.

“I am delighted with this publicatino, in which we analyze key drivers and challenges of the circular economy and present practical case studies of pioneering companies. Through the extended application of the R-principles such as Respect, Responsibility, Restore, Regenerate, Rethink and many more, we want to give companies and scientists valuable impulses for a sustainable transformation of supply chains,” explains Prof. Loza Adaui.

The book is aimed at managers, scientific staff and organizations that want to use circular strategies as a competitive advantage. It not only sheds light on the theoretical foundations, but also offers practical concepts and case studies for successful implementation.

The book has been published in English and is available from Springer Verlag.
