Research successes of professors at THI Business School

Dr. Cristian Loza Adaui and Dr. Alexander Schuhmacher, professors at THI Business School, were recently able to publish their latest research results in the fields of strategy, business models and sustainability management in internationally recognized scientific journals.

Together with authors from Italy, Loza Adaui explained in a study the relationship between socially responsible principles of Italian companies and their performance. Companies are recommended to pay more attention when designing mission statements. The study appeared in the journal “Long Range Planning” in August 2023.

In another 20-year study of pharmaceutical company productivity, Schuhmacher and international colleagues showed that the current cost of researching and developing new drugs averages EUR 6.1 billion. This high strategic risk challenges the business model of pharmaceutical companies. The study by the international group of researchers appeared in the specialist journal “Drug Discovery Today” in July 2023.
