At the beginning of January, the participants in the Finance transfer project from the Financial Management and Controlling (FMC) Master's degree program presented their results on the premises of VR-Bank Ingolstadt. The project was carried out this semester in collaboration with Volksbank Bayern-Mitte and was dedicated to the forward-looking topic of blockchain.
The transfer project is a central component of the Master's program and was supervised this semester by FMC degree program director Prof. Dr. Tanja Sinha. The aim of the module is to investigate complex issues and develop innovative solutions. This semester, the focus was on the possible applications of blockchain technology, particularly in the context of cooperative banks. Topics such as security, data protection, regulatory challenges, tokenization of assets and the role of Bitcoin as a store of value were examined in depth.
The presentations of the results gave the students the opportunity to discuss their research findings directly with senior employees and the CEO of VR-Bank. This practical relevance illustrates the relevance of the topics and the added value that the transfer project creates for both the students and the practice partners.
The successful implementation of this project has once again demonstrated how theory and practice can be effectively combined in the Master's degree program in Financial Management and Controlling at THI Business School.
