On Monday, 11 November, the first Sustainability Roundtable of Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) took place at the Neuburg campus under the direction of Prof. Dr Holger Hoppe. Sustainability managers from regional companies came together to discuss current developments in the field of sustainability. With almost 20 experts from various sectors, the panel was high-calibre.

After a round of introductions, the participants discussed challenges, progress and trends in corporate sustainability openly but confidentially. The aim of the kick-off was to jointly discuss the future direction of the roundtable, including possible focal topics and formats. It quickly became clear that there is a great need for regular dialogue. In addition, external experts are to be invited from time to time in order to benefit from additional perspectives and the latest findings. Above all, both the companies and the host are endeavouring to promote regional networking between companies in the field of sustainability and create synergies.

The Entrepreneurial Sustainability Roundtable is an initiative of Prof. Dr Holger Hoppe (THI) and the Sustainability Research and Transfer Centre Neuburg and is supported by the research assistants from the Sustainability Transfer Area of the third-party funded project ‘Mensch in Bewegung’. It is part of a Sustainable Thinking Area that is being set up at the THI Campus Neuburg in close cooperation with various social groups.

The next meeting will take place in January 2025 in the form of a fireside chat and promises another exciting exchange in an inspiring atmosphere.

THI is delighted with the successful start and looks forward to actively supporting sustainability work in the region with this new format.
