This is how I found out about it:
I first found the study program on the DAAD portal. Then I looked at my study program on the THI website and saw what it entailed. From there, I took a closer look at the THI itself on the website.
This is why I decided on the study program:
The course sounded exactly like what I wanted to study. The content sounded interesting and seemed broad enough to be applicable in many different fields and industries. I liked that the study course and the THI in general seemed to take a very practical approach: an internship, industry-relevant lectures and support, content that was always industry-related, and professors who have experience in these fields, not just at universities. I also liked that Ingolstadt is very beautiful and centrally located in Bavaria
Contents of my academic studies:
We have mechanical engineering courses, but not just pure mathematics and physics. You have to apply knowledge and equations to actual situations and scenarios. We have some specialized courses that focus more on renewable energies. For example, Energy Systems and Energy Economics was very different, but very interesting and gave a great insight into the development of the energy sector.
What I like most about THI:
The smaller class sizes are really great. You can interact with the professors properly, which makes learning so much easier. It also makes it easier to make great and really close friends.
The best experience/project in my academic studies:
So far, my best experience was a behind-the-scenes tour of the Audi factory, where I saw how their production line works.
My favorite subject:
Mechanical Engineering Design. It's a difficult course but you learn to make complex technical drawings, which has been really rewarding.
My insider tip for student life:
Be open-minded and friendly to everyone. There are lots of people in the same situation as you who are looking for friends. So if you're a nice person, you'll easily be accepted.
