This is how i found out:
I knew that I wanted to study something related to Computer Science. I came across User Experience Design while looking at the study courses offered by companies. I then looked at the curriculum on the THI website and was convinced.
This is why I decided on this study course:
As a student, I could hardly decide what I wanted to be, I was interested in too many things. Now I couldn't be happier be happier to have found an interface that combines technology with the human component - UX design. Here I can live out my creativity in designing interfaces, as well as empathy in user research and analytical thinking when planning projects or evaluating technical feasibility. Later on, I can even specialize in a particular strength.
My tip for choosing a course of study:
First and foremost, you should choose a field that interests you and in which you can imagine investing a lot of time invest. Then I can personally recommend internships because as soon as you have completed your studies, the jobs that are possible for you as a result follow. To do this, you can approach companies or ask people in your immediate environment if someone can take you along to their work for a week!
The content of my academic studies:
User Experience Design gives you a very broad base. The courses range from sketching, designing human-machine interfaces and design, to software development, web technologies, 3D modeling and VR applications, to study design and research methods. So you will know many ways to find the right target group and marketing strategy for a digital product, design it technically and aesthetically and bring it to market.
You should have these character traits for the study course:
Empathy, especially the ability to see the world from a different perspective, innovative thinking, analytical thinking, creativity
What I like best about the THI:
The teaching is of a particularly high quality for UX design and the lecturers are very willing to do their best for their students. You also have a lot of practical experience and are thus prepared for life as a UX designer
The best experience / project in my academic studies:
In the introductory project right at the beginning, you are very challenged because because everything is new. But that's also where you get to know your first contacts, who usually become friends afterwards. ;)
My favorite subject:
Human-Machine Interface Design, because you develop your first real project from start to finish in a team.
My insider tip for student life:
Ingolstadt has many bars – find one and make it your favorite. And the student associations in particular offer a good way to meet people.
