As a municipal energy company, Munich's public utilities have a duty to help shape the energy transition. Since 2008, they have therefore been focusing even more on renewables. Many regional projects have already been implemented in and around Munich and are still in the planning stage. For the students from our English-language degree programmes Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Systems and Renewable Energies, an excursion to Munich was therefore very obvious. The topics of the day were electromobility, wind turbines and photovoltaics. The students were able to gain concrete insights into the implementation of all three areas in a large city environment.
The guided tour on the topic of "electromobility and intelligent control" took place directly at the headquarters of the Munich public utility company after an initial tour and introduction. After lunch together, the tour continued to the Fröttmaning wind turbine before a visit to the Tagwerk organic butchery's own photovoltaic system was on the agenda.
