On 18.05.2022, the first Mechanical Engineering Day took place at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences. For the first event of this kind, a small format was deliberately chosen, which took place in the afternoon.
After the joint visit of the InnoTruck of the BMBF, which was a guest on the campus lawn of the THI, three mechanical engineering companies from the region presented themselves to the students and reported on challenges and perspectives in mechanical engineering. Our guests were the Bühler Group from Beilngries, Hecht Technologie GmbH from Pfaffenhofen and Huber Technology from Berching.
Important questions of the event were, the importance of mechanical engineering and the career perspectives. But there was also to be an insight into the fascinating world of mechanical engineering products, which are often invisible but deliver top performance. They not only play a major role in our daily lives, but also make a significant contribution to tackling climate change. Of particular interest were the topics that are currently of concern to the companies, the reunion with THI graduates and their reports on the applicability of the knowledge acquired in the course of studies in operational practice.
