The laboratory deals with fundamental and current issues of lightweight construction, mainly in relation to car body technology. Especially in the fields of structural mechanics and materials engineering, there are extensive training and investigation possibilities.
Goals and idea
- Static strength calculation with linear and non-linear material models
- Temperature field calculations
- Simulation of dynamic systems with FEM
- Numerical determination of component stress and service life
- Design of weight-optimized components based on the simulated force curve
- Construction of components suitable for production
- Investigation of the vibration behaviour (operational vibration analysis, modal analysis, mobile measurement data acquisition)
- Experimental and computational determination of service life (determination of component stress, fatigue strength tests / fracture mechanics)
